Water is pretty dang important for making beer. Matthew Gerdts would know – he’s been using it to brew beer for a long time, first as a hobby and then as a career. He opened Adventure Club Brewing six and a half years ago in Bayfield, WI, and he’s been going at full speed ever since.

Adventure Club has been a business sponsor of the Superior Rivers Watershed Association since 2021, donating 50 cents per every pint sold of his beloved brew, Pike’s Creek Pale Ale. But waters’ importance to beer-making isn’t the only reason Matt and Adventure Club support Superior Rivers.
“I like water a lot,” Matt says, having pursued a career in ecology and science before diving into the brewing industry. He also sails – a lot. You can find him on the water frequently during the summer, and you can find him taking a jump in Lake Superior at least once a week year round. “Water is so easy to overlook. People take it for granted.”
It’s this love, importance, and need to take nothing for granted which inspires Matt and Adventure Club to be a business sponsor. We were thrilled to host our Annual Membership Gathering at Adventure Club this summer, and we look forward to continued partnership.
