Fall Macroinvertebrate Monitoring Season: September 21-October 5
Join us for our fall macroinvertebrate collection season. We’re seeking volunteers to assist with fall aquatic macroinvertebrate monitoring fieldwork. No experience necessary – all equipment and training provided! This volunteer experience takes 4-6 hours and involves wading up a stream about 300 feet and using a net to sample specimen.
We will be hosting two training sessions leading up to the monitoring window: one is virtual and the other is in-person outdoors. Only one is required to participate in fieldwork. Training refreshers are required every two years.
- Virtual training: September 18, 6-8 pm
- In-person training: September 20, 2-4 pm – Whittlesey Creek Wildlife Refuge Area Coaster Classroom
